The expat community in Beijing is quite fragmented. Groups tend to form their own rituals and create a "village pub" where you, just like back home, meet, great and exchange news. My social group catches up in a particular bar (no I won't name it!) every now and again for the exact same reason. I don't know everyone who goes but you can be sure to find a friend.
A few weeks the events of the last post we all met up at this bar. I was a little on the tardy side so most people had already arrived. The men grouped at the back of the bar, as they always do, whilst the women were sprinkled through the crowd. I greeted those I knew, smiled at those I didn't, found myself a drink and worked my way through to the back where Alpha was hawhawing with his friends.
Alpha was actually standing a step back from the rest of the group, having a discussion with just one of his friends. I greeted the pair and kissed Alpha hello, being careful not to get any lipstick on his cheek. The other man moved back to the main group so Alpha and I spoke quietly to each other for a few minutes, catching up on the days events. Alpha was distracted, trying to listen to one of the men in the main group.
"What is it, Darling?" I asked. Alpha hushed me so that he could listen. I gazed around myself, not really paying attention as Alpha moved us closer. I was hidden from the speaker, standing just behind his left shoulder.
"Mate," the speaker said, "best shag of my life. She stripped in the lift and we fucked there and then. I've never cum so fast in my life. I was absolutely bricking it but she was screaming and carrying on like a nun in a whore house."
I laughed, partly in shock. Green Eyes had told me he was leaving Beijing, which had been part of his charm. Now here he was telling my husband and his friends about our lift tryst. Had I told him my name? Had I told him I was engaged to Alpha? Jesus, this was bad. The only thing to do was to brazen it out.
The men in the group looked at me when I laughed and Green Eyes made a double take as he realized who was standing behind him. I laughed again on the look on his face, which was white and getting whiter by the second. He started to stammer an apology which, luckily, sounded more like he was apologizing for saying fuck in front of a lady.
"Please don't apologize! Your nun sounds an absolute cracker." Green Eyes goggled. Alpha stepped in and introduced me. Green Eyes looked like he had swallowed a spider but I put on my best trophy wife impression and charmed and dazzled. Green Eyes went very quiet and avoided looking at me. After a few moments more he excused himself and left in the direction of the bathroom.
I ignored him and continued to flirt and tease with the best of them whilst Alpha looked on proudly. I saw another friend of mine enter so left Alpha with his friends to go and talk to my friend at the bar. If I positioned it right I might get a chance to grab Green Eyes before he came back and said something we would both regret.
